Native Americans, American Indians, First Nations People, Indigenous people, whichever name you prefer, we all come from the same background and the same US history. After everything American Indians have struggled through, does our vote count? Should we vote? The Baker Twins, Quese Imc, Supaman and Tanka Bar weigh in on this issue.

Brilliant!
absolutley brilliant I have seen alot of Christine's reports and they are solid! I just want to encourage every Native American and Aborgional Person who is 18 years and older to vote! I can understand if you don't want to because of the history that we as Native Americans and aborgionals have been through yet if you make the personal decsion to vote here are somethings you should know:
1) if you are an enrolled Tribal member make sure you to your tribal offices and ask what is the the age for you to vote in your nation , register to vote , and vote in your tribal elections. Now if you are going to be moving out of state for college , job or personal reasons ask if they have an absantee ballot that you can fill out so you will not miss out on voting in your tribal elections. Also ask if you can register to vote in the general election via your tribal nation.
2) If you are going to vote as an independent ask your local board of elections if you can vote in the primaries because in some states if you register as an independent you can not vote in the primaries yet you can vote in the general election.3) you can register to vote at your local board of elections, your local public libary, when you register to get your driver's license or your state ID thanks to the passage of the Motor Voter Bill that was signed into law by former President William Jeffferson Clinton, or go to Rock the Votes web site at www.RockTheVote.org it's non partisan and they do a great job of helping get people register to vote.4) find out when is the last day you can register to vote in your state or territory for the general election the sonner you get that done the sooner you can be part of the electorial process you can do that by going to your local board of elections or go to rock the votes web site at www.rockthevote.org. 5) find out about the canadates from a native perspective from rez net news, Indianz.com, Pechanga.net, or tribal newspapers. And if you got to watch it on tv and you have cable or sattelite go to c-span or c-span website at www.c-span.org , Native American Calling from Kohanic Broadcasting with Harlan McKosanto Sauk Ioway nations, your local tribal radio station ,and Democarcy Now ! www.democracynow.org the war and peace report with Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzales from Pacifica Radio Networks because they do the best coverage of covering the elections and they ain't coporate. 5)don't limit yourself from just Democarats or Republicans find out where the Green Party , the Libertarians ,and Ralph Nader and his VP Canadate Matt Gonzales stand on Native Issues go to their web sites and if you don't see anything that has to do with Native American Issues ask!
and the most important thing is to find out as much of your nation as you can and don't vote for this canadate becasue of what someone else is doing do it because you feel that person is the best canadate to listen and back with action .
