In rural northwest New Mexico, extraction of minerals and fossil fuels from mining has a reputation and a history, especially in Native communities. The Eastern Navajo Dine` Against Uranium Mining (ENDAUM) and Uranium Resources Inc. (URI) Crownpoint Project take sides in this video depicting the struggle to mine or not to mine in Crownpoint, N.M. The opportunity of economic development and nuclear energy weigh against toxic contaminated water, environmental pollution and unknown illnesses.
