LAWRENCE, Kan.–The Haskell Indian Nations University men's and women’s teams defeated York College in home games at the Coffin Sports Complex here.
The women beat York, 55-51. Whitney Warrior led the team in scoring with 22 points, followed by Kortney Smith, who scored 12 points. The women’s team is ranked third in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference, behind Oklahoma Wesleyan University, with five conference wins and four losses. Their overall record is 13 wins and 16 losses.
The men’s team outscored York, 79-72. Terrance Little Thunder led the team with 25 points.
The next day both teams hosted home games again. The women’s team defeated College of St. Mary, 58-55. Justina George scored 20 points and Whitney Warrior added 12 points.
On the other side, the men lost their game to Bellevue University, 68-59. Bellevue is one of the highest-ranked teams in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference with nine conference wins and only one loss. Bellevue has an overall record of 25 wins and three losses. Haskell’s overall record is 11 wins and 15 losses. The Haskell men ranked sixth in their conference with two conference wins and seven losses.
