Red Round Up, 7/15/08

This is a notable Round Up today, readers.  There's a lot of stuff that should've been on the front page in terms of significance, but other stuff was more significant.  So, let's round up this stuff that didn't make it to Redlines and digest.

Billings Man Cites Hunting Discrimination

from KULR-8:

Fort Peck Tribe failed by IHS

The Fort Peck tribe is being treated with almost lethal indifference from the Indian Health Service. From ulstrasound machines to kidney dialysis machines, the word from on high is that Fort Peck tribes will have to make due. Native Americans already have one of the highest infant mortality rates in America, they don't need the IHS dropping the ball to make things any worse.

Rascism has a price (this time, it's $185, 000)

Earle Nevins, a  Blackfeet tribal member, was getting racist harrassment from coworkers.  All too often, this sort of thing is written off as horseplay and swept under the rug.  Not this time, though!  Justice tastes better then even oreo klondike bars.  Though that $185, 000 tastes damn good too, I bet.

I hope the rascist former coworkers enjoy the senstvity training.
